my favorite biggie song? juicy.

holy schnikes!  twelve more weeks to go until this huge undertaking of projects is done.  at that point i'm doing a massive overhaul of the look and feel of cinquantacinquanta to bring it up to a speed that i'm cool with.  trebuchet, you're a cool font and all, but i think i need something... classier.

something weird happened to me on wednesday night.... not only did i find my makeup bag (long story), but i started craving green juice.   oh yes, i just finished up that green stuff from last friday.

that night, to kind of put a bow on the juicing *~experience, i made the most agreeable kind of juice... one that gives you a lot of sugar and water. my favorite things!

"recipes" for all three juices are below, but tinker with the guidelines according to your own taste and the power of your blender.

purple juice
1 1/2 cups blueberries
1 cup strawberries
1 banana
1 cup chia seeds (soaked overnight in water)
1 cup cranberry juice

as the first of the batch, i tried to cram too many things into this one.  it was certainly patriotic!

pink juice
2 cups watermelon
1 1/4 cup diced strawberries
1 pear
half of a cucumber
juice of one lime

this tastes best cold. my strawberries and watermelon were obviously not as ripe as they would be later in the summer so keep that in mind.  you can also add honey or some simple syrup if you want something to round out the sweetness.

green juice
2 stalks of celery
1 large apple, roughly cut
1 pear, roughly cut
2 cups of kale (frozen or fresh)
1 cup of water - add more as you need
1 cucumber
a bit of spinach (optional, we had some fresh spinach to finish up)

admittedly, this didn't turn out all that pretty.  it was sludgey, fibrous, but clearly good for you.  once we upgrade juicers the consistency won't be such an issue.  i'll also try cathy's trick of blending the greens with the liquid base (water) first and then add the rougher stuff.  use your best judgment!

this week: continuing the bold moves in writing and sharing that writing. scary stuff!  this may not be posted by wednesday, but i plan to share by the 1st of june.  in the mean time, another project will be started and tackled as well.  big ups!
