let's not be absolutists, friends. love the gray areas.
like, i said i was going to write a chapter of my novel (ehh) and make baked goods for christmas gifts, and because of the fervor of week-three and four's unpacking and tending to self-care i definitely did not do either of those things. oop.
what i have done is get the apartment really, really close to looking like we live here, and not just out of boxes and bags. some updated pictures for you are coming this week. and because i love grays, i'm going to count assembling all of this furniture - tables, chairs, two desks, rolling coffee table cart, etc - as my unspecified diy project for week 19. i actually like doing some assembly work on occasion so this phase of nesting was pretty enjoyable. except for missing pieces. those kind of suck.
and now that we're six days into the new year, it's onto the formation of new habits. posting on the fly is a-okay and i'm going to be less self-critical about making up new projects as i think of them. after all, i'm not the same person i was in august.
this past week (which would have been twenty-one), i uploaded one or more photos to instagram every day. that's actually one of the og projects. you can find me on instagram at anndelphine. i have to figure out what's going on with twenty, but you know i'm going to tack it on at the end. that's probably easiest.

15 for 15: goals and perspective checks
1. leave out what does not nourish my mind, body, or spirit. i'm not going to reject pain or even self-doubt, but i am going to know when it's time to unhinge myself from circumstance.
2. continue writing diligently, with purpose. let sela and caroline and luz and duncan live a little.
3. invite people over. even when you think they'll say no. even when they don't respond.
4. own the pretty. do your makeup, dress up a bit, do your nails and get the hurr did when you're feeling schlubby. you'll feel better. promise.
5. get one really cool bucket list trip going this summer.
6. pay off at least two smaller loans. this is going to be tricky for the first half of the year since i'm dumping everything extra into the credit card balance racked up from moving costs. but yeah, i think i can still cut out a few loans and sock away some savings.
7. do more arty stuff. i have a *new* camera and a proper desk and office space so i'm looking forward to spending time creating.
8. get away from screens for a few hours each day. walks with laura (hi!) are helping, but i need to expand the peace and quiet to home.
9. plan my photo gallery wall for the living room.
10. make and tackle part of my food bucket list.
11. start thinking about this "wedding" thing. we're talking may of 2016 so there's some time but i'd like to get a better idea of what we're aiming for or, you know, plotting a grand elopement.
12. find some new music. music + ann = happy town and all sorts of fun, creative endeavoring.
13. get to the gym a few times each week. big, scary change, this is. i haven't been in a gym since i stopped working in one.
14. self-promote. be your own biggest fan, but don't be afraid to tell other people that you're pretty cool in a non-obnoxious way. how else will they get to read el blog?
15. figure out what this blog will become after july.
idea for the list was taken from this post from delish knowledge (linked by joy the baker).
this week's project: say yes - to last minute changes, to apologies overdue, to ideas that would normally worry me, to friendly conversations. move forward.
