we stopped to catch our collective breath this weekend by committing to as few visits as possible. still managed to grab dinner at the incomparable casa luna downtown and visited both sets of parents. coco is exhausted. she's also 1 year old (as of yesterday)! the little love bug is so precious to us... our first "child".
the week after graduation is one of the best on campus. everyone is a little friendlier. we linger outside on our lunch breaks, make more eye contact with those of us who are still here. after all, we survived the crush of the end of the semester. i'm a little nicer, too.
this week's photos, thus far, and a thought accompanying each.
sunday's focus: being outdoors and enjoying time with family. we barbecued into the night up at the in-law's house. lots of open grass, a clear sky and gorgeous sunset. the neighbors played dueling soundtracks and the crackle of the grill's coals permeated the dense, summer evening heat.
monday focus: peonies from mom's garden. it was such a pleasant evening that i spent much of it outside, listening to the breeze and snapping photos. this one isn't magnificently centered - definitely did not abide by the rule of thirds, but i like it. so much beauty in the world in small and often overlooked places.
tuesday focus: coco's birthday bones and cannoli. she is spoiled, i know, but i have no deeper love than the love i have for her. she makes the rough times bearable and the great times that much more enjoyable. the day we first saw her was a turning point in my life. she's also terribly cute and playful. check out recent instagram photos and videos for proof!
thursday, friday, saturday coming up on sunday!
