long time, no sunday post. no exceptions here, though i do plan to write one up fornext sunday.
forewarning, i didn't get through this week's project for a few reasons, but i've been pretty darn productive in other ways.
had lunch with the bff on friday, which has been a long time coming. we work only five minutes away from one another but different office schedules and busyness make getting together more difficult than i'd like. it was great to sit down and catch up on life changes big and small.
on saturday val and i went to the mall. last time i tried to go shopping i pretty much had an anxiety attack in the sephora. no bueno. the whole purpose of going out was to dose myself with manageable exposures and get back into the groove of being among people. malling was pretty normal for me in high school and even on college breaks to some extent. i would get a good deal of satisfaction from buying things for myself.
now, though, my whole idea of money and capital is skewed, and my relationship with the saving and spending of it has shaped by the fear of not ever having "enough". my least favorite word and one of those spirit-killers for too many of us.
i'm definitely working on it all, albeit, slowly. buying things for myself does not make me a bad or wasteful person. being a super-saver does not make me a saint, either. there's got to be a natural give and take because there will most def be times of lean economic means and also times of abundance.
i am trying to pay off my credit card without flushing my bank account out every month. i also *just* disregarded my no-buy and agonized about it before submitted the order. clues me in that i'm not through the woods yet.
oh yeah, so onto the non-project. for what it's worth i got super excited to plan out my color schemes and leaf through past designs, but i just couldn't get a concept off the ground. so i'm sharing a few of my sketches from summers past to really showcase what i've already done and will want to add to. some designs i'm prouder of than others (that black one sleeve outfit and right-most dress are my jam.)

this week: coding at codeacademy! given a choice of being artsy or sciencey, i dig on the art much more often. it's about time to learn what the heck a string is, refresh my html skills, and drink some java while learning java.
